Lima Signal is an educational trading project. We collect as little as we can, we don't sell it, and we don't use advertising trackers. This page explains exactly what we hold when you use limasignal.com and what you can do about it.
Who is responsible for your data
Lima Signal (“we”, “us”) runs limasignal.com and is responsible for the personal data described here. For anything about your data, email hello@limasignal.com.
What we collect
When you browse
You can read every page and download every free product without an account. We don't run analytics or advertising cookies. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for security and to keep the site running.
When you create an account
- Your name and email address, and the trading experience level you pick at sign-up.
- Your password, which our authentication provider stores in hashed form. We can never see it.
- If you continue with Google: the name, email address and profile picture link Google shares with us. That picture is used as your profile photo until you change or remove it. We never receive your Google password.
- A profile photo, if you upload one. We crop it to a small square before storing it.
When you write a review
We store your rating, headline, review text and the date. Reviews are public: they appear on the product page with your first name and last initial (for example “Daniel F.”) and your profile photo, if you have one. Your email address is never shown.
When you email us
We keep your message and email address so we can reply and follow up.
We don't collect payment details. Every product is currently free, so there is no checkout.
How we use it
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
- To show your reviews, with your name and photo, and to let you edit or delete them.
- To send emails your account needs: confirming your address, magic sign-in links and password resets. We don't send marketing email.
- To prevent abuse, such as spam or fake reviews, and to keep the service secure.
- To answer you when you contact us.
We process account data because it's needed to provide the account you asked for, and security and moderation data because of our legitimate interest in keeping the site safe and its reviews honest.
Who processes it for us
We don't sell or rent personal data. We share it only with the services that run the site:
- Supabase: account sign-in and the database that holds accounts and reviews.
- Vercel: hosting and delivery of the website.
- Google: only if you choose “Continue with Google”.
These providers may process data in countries other than yours, under their own security and data-protection commitments. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
Cookies and local storage
We only use what's needed for the site to work, so there's no cookie banner:
- Sign-in cookies (named
sb-…-auth-token) keep you logged in. ls-rememberremembers whether you chose “Keep me logged in for 30 days”.- Your browser's local storage holds your cart, if you use one. It never leaves your device.
How long we keep it
We keep your account for as long as you have it. Reviews stay up until you delete them. If you delete your account, your profile, photo and all of your reviews are deleted with it. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own retention policy.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as Brazil's LGPD or the EU's GDPR give you rights over your data. Whatever your location, you can:
- ask for a copy of the data we hold about you;
- correct anything that's wrong;
- delete your account and everything linked to it;
- object to how we use your data, or ask us to limit it.
You can change your name, photo, email and password, see your reviews, and delete your account at any time from your account page. Reviews can be edited or deleted from their product page. For anything else, email hello@limasignal.com from the address on your account and we'll respond within 15 days. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority: in Brazil that's the ANPD (Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados), or the authority where you live.
Age
Lima Signal is about trading, which carries real financial risk. Accounts are for people aged 18 or over, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and its date. For significant changes, we'll also tell account holders by email.
